Victor buys Rhode Island-based reinsurance MGU

Managing general underwriter Victor Insurance Holdings Inc. said Tuesday it has acquired reinsurance managing general underwriter Regional Treaty Services Corp., based in Newport, Rhode Island.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Victor, a Chevy Chase, Maryland-based unit of Marsh LLC, said in a statement that RTSC underwrites and manages three reinsurance facilities for small to midsized U.S.-based insurers primarily writing personal lines, small agriculture and main street commercial business.
It said RTS founder John Pfautz will join Victor, continuing in his current duties and reporting to Victor CEO Brian Hanuschak.
