Government to insure EgyptAir’s Russian flights

Egypt’s parliament has approved a law that would allow the Ministry of Finance to provide insurance coverage for state-owned EgyptAir Airlines Co.’s Russian flights against risks such as war and hijacking, Middle East Insurance Review reported citing Al-Ahram newspaper. The decision comes after Egyptian insurer Misr Insurance Holding Co. withdrew its coverage for EgyptAir’s flights on Russian routes amid the war in Ukraine and resulting sanctions on Russia.
