Truckers’ protest disrupts nearly $3 billion worth of trade

The three-week long protest by truckers in early February against Canada’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates that included blocking three border crossings between Canada and the U.S., disrupted $3.6 billion Canadian ($2.86 billion) worth of trade, Reuters reported. Businesses and residents in downtown Ottawa have filed a CAD306 million class-action lawsuit against the truckers’ convoy for disrupting their business operations and livelihoods.
