BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The Mississippi House of Representatives and Senate on Wednesday passed a bill that would permit the use of medical marijuana.

S.B. 2095, sent to Gov. Tate Reeves, would permit the use of medical cannabis use by “certain patients who have debilitating medical conditions,” including “chronic pain,” and would “provide for the allowable amount of medical cannabis by a qualified patient,” among other provisions.

The bill, which would permit the use of medical marijuana for more than a dozen conditions including cancer, defines chronic pain as “a pain state in which the cause of the pain cannot be removed or otherwise treated, and which in the generally accepted course of medical practice, no relief or cure of the cause of the pain is possible, or none has been found after reasonable efforts by a practitioner.”

The 445-page bill also creates a host of regulations for dispensaries.
