Covea to acquire PartnerRe for $9 billion

French insurer Covea Groupe SAS has agreed to acquire Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe Ltd. from investment group Exor NV for $9 billion, Artemis reported. As part of the transaction, Exor will acquire interests in special purpose reinsurance vehicles managed by PartnerRe for approximately $725 million from Covea.
