Gallagher unit buys N.J.-based construction consultancy

Gallagher Bassett Services Inc., the risk management services unit of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has acquired Bayonne, New Jersey-based Total Safety Consulting LLC and its affiliates, including TSC Training Academy LLC.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
With about 220 staff, TSC offers safety management, loss control engineering, environmental health and safety, and technical training services to support the construction development process.
Founded in 1996, TSC serves clients across the Northeastern, Mid-Atlantic and Southern United States from its offices in Bayonne; Long Island City and the Bronx, New York; and Hialeah, Florida, Gallagher said in a statement Tuesday.
TSC principals Jim and Liz Bifulco and the staff will continue to operate from their current locations under the direction of Jim Bond, executive vice president of Gallagher Bassett Technical Services, part of Gallagher Bassett’s construction practice.
Arthur J. Gallagher is the fourth-largest brokerage ranked by revenue generated by U.S. clients, according to Business Insurance’s 2020 ranking.
