BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

In-person workplace safety conference slated for September

Austin

The American Society of Safety Professionals has scheduled its annual conference for Sept. 13-15 in Austin, Texas, offering attendees a hybrid event that will include in-person and online sessions, the Park Ridge, Illinois-based organization announced Wednesday.

ASSP is among the first organizations in the insurance and risk management industry to announce a live event for 2021 after widespread cancellations and shifts to online amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

ASSP’s Safety 2021 Professional Development Conference and Exposition will include “heightened safety and health measures to protect all attendees,” ASSP President Deborah Roy said in a statement, adding that such protocols as face coverings will be mandatory.

ASSP will combine the in-person event at the Austin Convention Center with virtual access to the 60th annual conference, which had originally been slated for June in Denver.

If the public health situation doesn’t improve as expected, ASSP said it has the flexibility to shift the conference to an all-virtual event.
