Massive underwater quake triggers tsunami warning

A 7.7-magnitude underwater earthquake hit the South Pacific region on Feb. 11, triggering tsunami warnings for Australia and New Zealand that were later lifted, Kontan.co.id reported citing Reuters. The earthquake, which struck 258 miles east of Tadine, New Caledonia, was aftershocks of three other earthquakes in the region with 5.7 to 6.1 magnitudes in just over an hour.
