To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Former OSHA head named to COVID-19 transition team

President-elect Joe Biden appointed David Michaels, former head of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, to his Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board.

Mr. Michaels, an epidemiologist and professor of environmental and occupational health at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University, served as Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA from 2009 to 2017. Under President Bill Clinton, Mr. Michaels served as Assistant Secretary of Energy for Environment, Safety and Health.

President-elect Biden also announced Saturday that Jane Hopkins, a Seattle-based nurse, and Jill Jim, executive director of the Navajo Nation Department of Health, have been named to the board.

The board will be co-chaired by former U.S. Food and Drug Administration commissioner Dr. David Kessler, former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy and Yale University epidemiology professor Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith.
