QBE snags Berkshire Hathaway financial lines leaders

QBE North America has hired former Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Inc. underwriters Dan Fortin and Todd Greeley to lead its financial lines business.

Mr. Fortin will be president, financial lines for the New York-based unit of QBE Insurance Group Ltd., and Mr. Greeley will be chief operating officer of the division, QBE said in statements announcing the appointments.

The executives will lead and build on the Australian-owned insurer’s management liability, professional liability and transactional liability practices, QBE said.

Previously, Mr. Fortin and Mr. Greeley were senior vice presidents at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, having joined from CNA Financial Corp. in 2013.
