Hiscox names former Hamilton Re exec as CEO of reinsurance, ILS

Specialty insurer Hiscox Ltd. on Wednesday named Kathleen Reardon, former CEO of Hamilton Re Ltd., as CEO of its reinsurance and ILS business.
Ms. Reardon, who left Hamilton Re in August, succeeds Mike Krefta. Hiscox previously announced Mr. Krefta would be stepping down in early 2021.
In her new role, Ms. Reardon will sit on the group executive committee and will be based in Bermuda, leading both the reinsurance and ILS teams that operate from Bermuda and London, Hiscox said in a statement.
Before joining Hamilton Re in 2013, she spent her early career at ACE in a variety of actuarial and underwriting roles, rising to chief underwriting officer for international property at ACE Tempest Re in 2005, based in Bermuda.
Ms. Reardon’s market knowledge and leadership skills will “ensure that Hiscox Re & ILS can take advantage of a hardening market and deliver good returns to our reinsurance partners, ILS investors, and shareholders,” Bronek Masojada, Hiscox Group CEO, said in the statement.
