BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Marriott reports another data breach

Marriott International Inc. said Tuesday that data on about 5.2 million of its guests may have been hacked.

The Bethesda, Maryland-based hotel operator said in a statement the company learned at the end of February that an “unexpected amount” of guest information may have been accessed using the login credentials of two employees at a franchise property. Marriott said it believes the activity started in mid-January 2020.

It said information hacked may have included contact details, loyalty account information, additional personal details such as company, gender and birth dates, partnerships and affiliations and room and language preferences.

The statement said, “Marriot carries insurance, including cyber insurance, commensurate with its size and the nature of its operations, and the company is working with its insurers to assess coverage. The company does not believe that its total costs related to this incident will be significant.”

A spokesman did not provide further details.

The statement said while its investigation is ongoing it has no reason to believe the information included its loyalty program, Marriott Bonvoy account passwords or PINs, payment card information, passport information, national IDs, or driver’s license numbers.

The company suffered a massive breach in 2018 involving up to 383 million guests in its Starwood hotels reservation system.
