Help

BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Robert “Bob” Young, founder of Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc., died Feb. 20 in Pinehurst, North Carolina, the third-party administrator said in a statement Wednesday.

He was 83.

Born in Ohio, Mr. Young moved to California after college and in 1969 founded National Compensation Services in San Francisco. That small claims services company ultimately became Sedgwick.

Mr. Young grew the company to more than 500 people. He retired in 1996 when Dave North became president and CEO.
