Ed hires former Sompo underwriter to lead Bermuda liability business

Ed Broking Group Ltd. has hired former Sompo International Holdings Ltd. underwriter Colin Kelley to head its Bermuda liability division, the insurance and reinsurance brokerage unit of BGC Partners Inc. announced Wednesday.
In the newly created role, Mr. Kelley will lead Ed’s professional liability lines, casualty and health care teams, the brokerage said in a statement.
Prior to joining Ed, Mr. Kelley spent nine years at Sompo International in Bermuda where most recently he was commercial lines practice leader.
Ed, which was formed out of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Ltd. in 2012, was bought by New York-based BGC in 2018.
