Munich Re expects strong profit despite major loss costs

Munich Reinsurance Co. expects to report net profit of €850 million ($949 million) in the third quarter, despite the impact of a "high major loss expenditure," Artemis reported. Munich Re said that strong third quarter result is expected thanks to "good operational performance, strong currency gains, and a very good investment result."
