Risk management foundation names executive director

The Spencer Educational Foundation named former broker and underwriter Megan Miller as executive director.
The New York-based risk management educational foundation, which awards scholarships and grants to promote risk management education, said in a statement Tuesday the appointment is effective immediately.
In the newly created role, Ms. Miller will oversee the foundation’s day-to-day operations and Spencer’s fundraising activities, the statement said.
Most recently, Ms. Miller was executive director for The Sasamani Foundation, an organization focused on alleviating poverty in East Africa.
Ms. Miller, a former Spencer scholar, previously held positions at Beecher Carslon Insurance Services LLC, Swiss Re Ltd., XL Group PLC and FM Global. In 2017, Ms. Miller was a Business Insurance break-out award winner.
