Generali acquires Ergo's business in Hungary, Slovakia

Italy-based Assicurazioni Generali SpA has acquired Germany-based insurer Ergo Versicherung A.G.'s business in Hungary and Slovakia as part of its plans to expand its operations in Central Europe, Budapest Business Journal reported. Generali Biztosito Zrt purchased Ergo's entire Hungarian insurance portfolio while Generali Slovakia acquired Ergo Austria International A.G.'s Slovakian business.
