BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

PartnerRe Ltd. has recruited former Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. executive Jonathan Colello to head its reinsurance operations in the United States.

The appointment comes one month after PartnerRe announced a reorganization of its units.

Mr. Colello, a long-time Axis executive, was appointed president North America for Axis Re last May.

At PartnerRe, he will be CEO, P&C Americas and president of Partner Reinsurance Co. of the U.S., according to a PartnerRe statement. He will report to Emmanuel Clarke, president and CEO of the Bermuda-based reinsurer, and will lead PartnerRe’s property/casualty business in the U.S., Canada and Latin American and its health reinsurance business in the United States, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Axis announced Monday that it has appointed Andy Hottinger as president of its EMEA LatAm division, covering Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Most recently, Mr. Hottinger was head of property EMEA at Axis. He replaces Jan Ekberg, who will retire in July, Bermuda-based Axis said in a statement.
