Marsh unit hires business development leader from Markel

Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC has recruited Denise Perlman from Markel Corp., the middle market unit of Marsh LLC announced Friday.
Ms. Perlman, who most recently was senior director for retail business development at Richmond, Virginia-based Markel, was named to the newly created position of executive vice president, business insurance and national partnerships at Marsh & McLennan Agency.
She will continue to be based in Richmond and will report to Bill Jeatran, president of Marsh & McLennan Agency, the brokerage said in a statement.
In addition, the brokerage promoted Jim Johnson to the newly created position of national industry development leader, business insurance, where he will be part of Ms. Perlman’s team. Previously, he was vice president of sales and marketing for Marsh & McLennan Agency. He will continue to be based in Minneapolis.
