A New Hampshire bill that would allow payment of workers compensation benefits by direct deposit passed in a 14-9 Senate vote January 3.
S.B. 84, sponsored by state Sen. Donna Soucy, requires that payment should be made by direct deposit six weeks from the date of disability if the injured worker elects this payment method, according to the bill’s latest text.
The bill also states that the employer or the employer's insurance provider must notify the injured worker in writing of his or her right to payment by direct deposit.
S.B. 84 will head to the House.
A Florida Senate bill introduced Tuesday would increase the pay of workers compensation judges.
