BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Safety advocate to retire

The American Society of Safety Engineers’ executive director Dennis Hudson will retire in April 2018, the association announced on Thursday.

Mr. Hudson, 65, has been executive director of the Park Ridge, Illinois-based organization for two years and has worked with ASSE for 10 years.

“Dennis has been a dynamic and trusted leader who has made valuable contributions to ASSE and the occupational safety and health profession,” ASSE President Jim Smith said in a statement. “We’re aiming to find a successor who will build on his dedicated work to position ASSE as a thought leader, continue our growth and improve our brand.”

His replacement will become the eighth executive director since ASSE was founded in 1911.

ASSE is working with Los Angeles-based executive search firm Korn Ferry to hire its next executive director.
