American International Group Inc. on Wednesday said Bill Rabl has been named CEO of AIG Risk Management, effective immediately.
He joins AIG from Chubb Ltd., where he was most recently executive vice president of global casualty, with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of global primary casualty for large U.S. and multinational companies, AIG said in a statement.
In this newly created position, Mr. Rabl will lead AIG’s loss sensitive and risk management business and report directly to Peter Zaffino, executive vice president and global chief operating officer for AIG. His responsibilities will include leading the underwriting business for AIG Risk Management, according to the statement.
Mr. Rabl is based in New York.
Peter Zaffino’s appointment to help run American International Group Inc. with Brian Duperreault gives Mr. Duperreault a familiar lieutenant in his campaign to rebuild the insurer, observers say.
