BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association to launch Aug. 1

The merger between the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices Ltd. and the American Association of Managing General Agents has been officially approved.

The new organization created by the merger, the Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association, becomes effective Aug. 1, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Dave Leonard, president of Kansas City, Missouri-based NAPSLO.

The new organization will be based in Kansas City.

A total of 89% of votes from members of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based AAMGA and 93% of NAPSLO votes approved the merger, according to the statement.

The merger proposal was announced last year.

“WSIA has been thoughtfully created to best meet the needs of our collective members and serve the entirety of the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines industry,” Mr. Leonard said in the statement.
