BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.
To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.
To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.
Cigna Corp. has launched new group hospital indemnity insurance called Cigna Hospital Care.
Cigna Hospital Care provides individuals and families additional financial protection for costs associated with unexpected medical bills when they are admitted to a hospital for a covered injury or illness, the health insurer said Monday in a statement.
The coverage pays a lump sum that covered individuals can use for out-of-pocket medical costs, hiring extra help for child care or housework during recovery, and other expenses, Cigna said.
“As an example, our standard (health savings account-compatible) plan would provide a benefit of $1,400 to $1,800 for an average hospitalization, which assumes an admission with four days in the hospital as an inpatient. If the customer were in the (intensive care unit) one day and then the hospital for four additional days (five days total in the hospital), the plan would be $1,600 to $2,200,” a Cigna spokesman said in an email.
“Whether recovering from an illness or injury or simply returning to work, we want to help customers worry less about medical bills and focus more on getting back to health and to life,” Mark Marsters, senior vice president, group operations at Cigna, said in the statement. “We designed our voluntary benefits to fit seamlessly into any comprehensive benefit package.”
