Self-proclaimed introvert Nathan Walters, Dallas-based senior vice president and resident sales director for Aon Risk Solutions, is described by his clients and co-workers as an energetic and thoughtful leader.
Mr. Walters has a way of answering questions before they're asked, said Karen Davis, director of risk management at The Howard Hughes Corp. in Dallas.
“When we mention something that we're thinking about doing in the business, he doesn't wait for us to ask for something,” Ms. Davis said.
“He's already thinking about, "How can I help them? How can I make this work better? How can I make their lives easier?' ... He knows how to get things done,” she added.
Developing good relationships with clients is impossible without open communication, Mr. Walters said, adding that he makes it a practice to question why clients do what they do and ask about their strategy.
“I'm an introvert at heart, and I'm also an analytic, which is a little different twist on a person that does development,” Mr. Walters said.
In addition to working with clients, Mr. Walters participates in Aon's mentorship program.
“I love leadership, I love inspiring and encouraging individuals, and I also love seeing people develop.”
The program, which spans three generations, creates a positive culture and “direct tie-ins to different thought processes, immediate feedback, and all kinds of good qualities you want in an office to really be well rounded,” he said.
