Damage claims from July hail storms in Hungary total $7.1m

The recent hail storms in Hungary in the month of July have caused over 2 billion Hungarian forints ($7.1 million) in damages for farmers, reports Budapest Business Journal citing Vilaggazdasag daily.

Insurer Groupama Garancia Biztosito Zrt. said that it received 309 claims and has already paid out HUF 250 million ($895,512.5).

Generali-Providencia Biztosito Zrt. received claims worth HUF 830 million ($2.9 million), while Allianz S.E.'s Hungarian unit received 1,000 claims worth about HUF 1 billion ($3.5 million) in July.
