BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The National Council on Compensation Insurance Inc. has appointed Katherine Antonello as its chief actuary to succeed Dennis Mealy, who is retiring.

Ms. Antonello “has a broad and accomplished professional background, including a distinguished record of actuarial achievement and senior management success,” Steve Klingel, NCCI president and CEO, said Monday in a statement. “While we are going to be very sorry to lose Dennis to a well-earned retirement, we are confident that we have found a highly capable individual to succeed him."

Boca Raton, Fla.-based NCCI is a nationwide workers compensation ratings and research organization.

Ms. Antonello will lead NCCI's actuarial and economic services division, responsible for rate/loss cost filings, legislative analyses, insurance industry results analysis, residual market reserving and other services. As a member of NCCI's senior management team, she also will help develop and implement corporate objectives.

Ms. Antonello spent the past 12 years working at Boca Raton, Fla.-based Lumbermen's Underwriting Alliance, according to NCCI. From 2008 to 2013, she served as Lumberman's vice president of policy services and internal audit. From 2001 to 2008, she served as chief actuary for Lumberman's.
