NEW YORK—ACE Ltd. has announced new appointments to its financial and professional lines.
Timothy O'Donnell was named executive vp, financial lines for its international insurance operations, effective June 1.
Previously, he was division president, professional lines, North America. Mr. O'Donnell will be succeeding David Robinson, who has been appointed division president, U.K. & Ireland. Mr. O'Donnell will be based in London.
ACE Group also has named Scott Meyer as division president, professional risk, ACE USA. Mr. Meyer also will take on some of Mr. O'Donnell's previous responsibilities. Previously, Mr. Meyer was executive vp, professional risk, ACE USA. He is based in New York.
Stephen Haney was appointed division president, surety, ACE USA, and chief underwriting officer, global surety, a newly created position. Most recently, he acted as executive vp and chief underwriting officer, surety, ACE USA. Mr. Haney is based in Philadelphia.
Additionally, Nicholas Small has been named chief underwriting officer, international financial lines, also a newly-created role. Prior to his new position, he was international financial institutions underwriting manager. He is based in London.
Catastrophe losses limited 22 Bermuda insurers and reinsurers to $1.49 billion in profit 2011, down from $11.37 billion the previous year, according to a report released Monday.
