USI acquires Florida benefits, insurance consulting firm

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y.—USI Insurance Services, a unit of USI Holdings Corp., said it has completed the acquisition of de la Parte & Associates, a Tampa, Fla.-based employee benefits and insurance consulting firm.

The acquired company specializes in corporate health and welfare benefits, wellness initiatives, retirement services, executive benefits and human resources consulting for middle-market businesses.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

James W. Dunn, USI's regional CEO for the Southeast, said in a Friday statement that the acquisition will strengthen USI's position in Florida.

Kim M. de la Parte, CEO and founder of de la Parte & Associates, said the acquisition will enable de la Parte to offer its clients access to “more diverse, proprietary programs and solutions, cutting-edge technology, and greater access to tools and resources that will support client needs and enhance our value propositions.”

Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.-based USI is the nation's eighth-largest insurance brokerage based on 2010 revenues of $632.2 million, according to the 2011 Business Insurance broker rankings.
