Griffith Foundation awards $35,000 in scholarships

COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Griffith Foundation for Insurance Education announced Friday it has awarded more than $35,000 in scholarships to students studying risk management, insurance or actuarial science at colleges and universities.

The Griffith Foundation, a nonprofit organization to promote the study and teaching of risk management and insurance, said in a statement it has awarded 29 scholarships for the 2010-11 academic year.

“The primary role of the Griffith Foundation is to develop and sustain an industrywide effort to educate and encourage young people to consider a career in the risk management and insurance industry,” said Don Rebele, foundation president and CEO, in a statement.
