BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.
To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.
To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE INDUSTRY: "I got into the industry by accident when a friend recommended that I interview at a ‘noninsurance insurance company.’ What a recruiter told me was that as we neared the 21st century, the business of transferring risk would take many forms—sometimes utilizing insurance, but at other times through the creation of a financial guarantee or possibly a security. It was this expansive view of risk transfer that initially intrigued me. (My first) position was as a financial underwriter in the financial guarantee side of the house."
THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED: "The best advice I ever received was never be afraid to ask a question. There isn’t a bad question to ask. I’ve seen in my own career and in business that not asking a question can be a fatal error."
ADVICE FOR THOSE STARTING IN THE INDUSTRY: "Insurance is a wonderful world and never be afraid to spread your wings and try new things. You can find myriad different aspects of insurance. Never be afraid to find something new. It can be endlessly interesting when you’re on the inside."
WHAT YOU WANTED TO BE PROFESSIONALLY WHILE GROWING UP: "I wanted to be an astronaut—that goes without saying. Still, my goal is to be in space at some point. It was appealing because the sky was the limit and you could do anything and be anything you wanted to be."
