BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

TYPES OF LEGAL BENEFITS

Reprints

Prepaid legal plan. Provides legal services to the group member and, in most cases, their spouse and dependent children, for a prepaid, monthly fee. Typically, there's no limit on the number of times a member may seek legal advice and services. Typical premiums range from $10 to $20 a month.

Prepaid access plan. Offers certain basic services, such as telephone advice, brief office consultations and preparation of simple legal documents, at no additional cost plus other legal services at a discount or for a flat fee. Typical premiums range from $8 to $14 a month.

Both types of plans connect the member with a participating lawyer or law firm able to provide legal advice and consultation by phone or in-person. Popular services include will preparation and review of legal documents, although the range of legal issues that these plans tackle is broad. These may include living wills, estate planning, powers of attorney, civil litigation defense, adoption, guardianship, name changes, prenuptial agreements, divorce, real estate transactions, traffic matters, consumer protection issues and identity theft.
