BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.
To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.
To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.
Business Insurance has added to its advertising sales staff, as Russell J. Carpel and Todd D. Lockwood have joined the magazine as regional sales managers.
Responsibilities for Mr. Carpel, who is based in Chicago, and Mr. Lockwood, based in New York, will include prospecting and closing new business, and servicing and expanding business relationships with current advertisers in print, online and events.
Before joining BI, Mr. Carpel was director of new business development at Robert Brandt & Associates, an advertising agency in Chicago. Previously, he was business development manager for Cygnet Midwest, a boutique ad agency in Naperville, Ill., and was an account executive for CBS Radio in Chicago.
He has a bachelor's degree in public relations and marketing from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. He is pursuing a master's in sports marketing and public relations at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

Mr. Lockwood will be responsible for accounts in the Southeastern United States. Previously, he was an account manager covering the Midwest and West Coast for Risk Management magazine, published by the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. He established the online sales strategy for the magazine as well as performing his regular duties of procuring new print business and servicing existing accounts.
Before that, Mr. Lockwood was an inside account executive on the recruitment advertising team for The New York Times. He also handled national accounts for Westwood One Radio Networks and was a media planner at ad agency Biederman, Kelly & Shaffer Inc.
He has a bachelor's degree in marketing communications from Montclair State University in Montclair, N.J.
