BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

La. workers comp policyholders to get dividend

BATON ROUGE, La.--The Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corp. said Monday that more than 20,000 of its qualifying policyholders will share a $23.2 million dividend to be paid later this month.

Dividend amounts will be based on a calculation that considers factors such as policyholder premium amounts and longevity with the LWCC, a private, nonprofit mutual insurer created by state lawmakers in 1991, the insurer said in a statement.

The LWCC is the largest workers comp writer in Louisiana, with about 22,000 policyholders.

The LWCC said it believes the workers comp dividend will be the largest ever paid in Louisiana, topping the $19.6 million it returned last year. It credited a healthy and a competitive workers comp market for this year's dividend--the fourth straight year it has done so.
