BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

LETTER: Battling terror with trade hits the bull's-eye

Reprints

To the editor: Business Insurance's Feb. 5 article by Stephen Patrick Cain, "Trade Is a Powerful Weapon in the War on Terror," bringsÝsome refreshing air to the present so-called war on terror.

This article touches upon the center of the problem. I was astonished to read the "Global Risk Network Report" (34 pages, available at www.weforum.org/pdf/CSI/Global_Risks_2007.pdf) prepared under the World Economic Forum this year. Under "Focus on Mitigation: International Terrorism," the "experts" of the Global Risk Network list 16 items concerning mitigation of terrorism. Not one item refers to what weÝshouldÝall know is the main source of terrorism, that is injustice and unfairness between the nationsÝin trade, economics and social matters.

Mr. Cain did focus on the real problems in his article. It would be marvelous if our politicians and top business execs would all read Business Insurance and such a good article!
