BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

WASHINGTON--New District of Columbia Mayor Adrian Fenty has reappointed Thomas E. Hampton to his post as commissioner of the district's Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking.

The Council of the District of Columbia confirmed Mr. Hampton as commissioner in May 2006 after he served as acting commissioner for about eighth months. Before that, he was a deputy commissioner with the department, the department said in a statement Tuesday.

His 2007 agenda includes plans to develop a government-owned captive insurance company for nonprofit health clinics operating in the district.
