BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.
To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.
To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.
OKEMOS, Mich. -- To assist insurance professionals in risk selection, rating and total exposure control, WeatherTrends has released a climatological program that evaluates the risk of six weather conditions for each U.S. county.
WeatherTrends ranks the risks -- lightning, wind, tornado, temperature, hurricane and earthquake -- by frequency and/or severity for each of the 3,101 counties in the United States. The program can be customized to illustrate total gross limits and total limits net of reinsurance for liabilities within each county or ZIP code. It also can list all properties insured by a particular company within each county or ZIP code.
The information will be updated annually and expanded to include other climatological issues. WeatherTrends is available on a 3.5-inch diskette or CD-ROM.
The base program is available for $2,000 for one state, plus $1,000 for each additional state, or $12,000 for the entire United States. Annual updates cost $250 per state, and $1,200 for the entire United States.
