Extreme weather causes over $2 billion damage in Italy

Italy's agricultural association Coldiretti estimates €2 billion ($2.3 billion) in damage to countryside buildings, infrastructure and agricultural output so far this year from severe weather, The Straits Times reported citing AFP. Italy has witnessed a 45% year-on-year increase in the number of extreme weather events, including floods, tornados, hail and heatwaves, so far this year.
