MS Amlin’s net loss widens further due to COVID-19

U.K.-based insurer MS Amlin Ltd.’s net loss widened to £277 million ($390.5 million) in 2020, driven primarily by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Reinsurance News reported. This compares to a net loss of £55 million reported by the insurer in 2019. Net premiums written dropped £538 million, mainly affected by the withdrawal of the Lloyd’s business from unprofitable lines.
