Reinsurance pricing moderated in Q1: Guy Carpenter

Peter Hearn, chief executive of reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC, said that reinsurance pricing moderated in the first quarter, with the reinsurance market reporting high demand and adequate capacity, Reinsurance News reported. The broker’s global property catastrophe rate online index was up by nearly 5% at the January reinsurance renewals while the Japanese property catastrophe pricing also increased during the April renewals, albeit at a moderate rate as compared to the previous years.
