Suez Canal blockage triggers delays, worsens container shortage

According to Denmark-based shipping intelligence provider Sea-Intelligence ApS, the blockage of Suez Canal by the Ever Given containership prompted worldwide carrier schedule changes and delays, which are expected to continue through June, Supply Chain Dive reported. The delays and port congestion at both origins and destinations are expected to worsen the container shortage in Asia over the next few weeks, according to Freightos Ltd.
