Reinsurance, ILS markets show resilience at January renewals

According to A.M. Best Co. Inc., the insurance-linked securities and traditional reinsurance markets demonstrated resilience at the January renewals despite the COVID-19 pandemic and several small and medium-sized catastrophe losses, Reinsurance News reported. The influx of new capital, delayed calculation of COVID-19-related losses and lower capital trapping helped the traditional market avoid any dislocation, and generated enough capital to meet the demand at the renewals.
