BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Sanlam expects rise in excess claims from COVID-19

Paul Hanratty, chief executive of South Africa-based Sanlam Ltd., expects a two- to three-fold increase in excess claims in 2021 compared to 2020 due to surging COVID-19 infections, Middle East Insurance Review reported citing Bloomberg. Mr. Hanratty said the insurer is preparing for two-and-a-half more COVID-19 waves and their impacts on health and excess claims in the upcoming months.
