Moody’s keeps outlook negative for European insurers

U.S.-based Moody’s Investors Service, Inc. has maintained a negative outlook for the European insurance sector for 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic-triggered economic shock and continued low interest rates, Reinsurance News reported. Low rates and economic contraction will adversely impact property and casualty insurers’ performance in 2021, while price increases will benefit commercial insurers.
