RenRe's premiums rise nearly 33% in third quarter

Bermuda-based reinsurer RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd.'s gross written premiums increased nearly 33% year-on-year to surpass $1 billion in the third quarter, Royal Gazette reported. The rise was driven by an increase of $168.6 million in the casualty and specialty segment, and $113.4 million in the property segment. Net profit rose more than 30% to around $48 million.
