Commercial insurance claims to rise due to lockdown

Industry experts expect a rise in Indian commercial insurance claims in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2021, due to a lack of maintenance in factories and plants, which have been shut for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Hindu Business Line reports. The claims will primarily come from fire and related accidents in plants and stocks in warehouses. There have been nearly 35 to 40 industrial accidents as factories resumed operations after more than a month of nationwide lockdown.
