Swiss Re uses third-party capital to grow cat business

Swiss Re Ltd. has made increasing use of third-party sources of capital this year, as pricing rose and its appetite for natural catastrophe risks went up, Artemis reported. Mike Mitchell, head of property and specialty underwriting at Swiss Re, said, "With catastrophe price levels improving, we are leveraging our highly diversified portfolio to grow our catastrophe business."
