Rating agencies expect reinsurance rates to rise moderately

Rating agencies like Moody's Corp., Fitch Ratings Inc. and S&P Global Inc. expect reinsurance rates to rise moderately in 2019 due to strong competition, Reuters reported. David Masters, Global Director of S&P, said that the rates will rise less than 5% as there is still too much capacity. Analysts at Moody's expect rates to remain ‘largely flat’, with possible changes within a range of minus 2.5% to plus 2.5%.
