QBE Insurance plans EU market push after Brussels unit approval

Australia-based QBE Insurance Group Ltd. has received regulatory approval to start operations at its new unit in Brussels, 1asig.ro reported. QBE Europe S.A./N.V. will be able to write business in the European Union following the National Bank of Belgium's approval. QBE Europe will set up subsidiaries in Bermuda, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. It plans to start operations in the fourth quarter.
