Reinsurance rates likely to remain flat at renewals: Analysts

Equity research analysts at U.S.-based investment banks Morgan Stanley and JMP Securities L.L.C. said that reinsurance prices are likely to remain flat across the world at the mid-year reinsurance renewals, Artemis.bm reports. The analysts said that prices in some loss-affected accounts could rise a few percentage points. The January 2019 reinsurance renewal rates could remain flat to down if the reinsurance market remains free of major catastrophe losses through the hurricane season and rest of this year, the analysts added.
